i made this chart about a year ago…and needless to say, not much has changed.
it’s created using an amended version of the drake equation, substituting his search for interstellar communication with my search for a mate. (comparable, yes.) i started with the entire population of california and whittled it down to only 8 possible men out there who i could possibly date/marry/love forever. on any given night in my hometown, there is a 0.0000026% chance of meeting one of these potential matches. that’s a 1 in 384,000 chance. slightly better chances than getting struck by lightening, slightly worse than my chances of than death by alligator, but just about the same as my chances of dying from choking on food…which is what i might resort to if i continue being single.
